MORTGAGE MARKET UPDATE FOR THE WEEK ENDED OCTOBER 19, 2018

This week the primary influence on mortgage interest rates was the release of the Federal Reserve minutes which were considered mostly negative.  The other economic data that was released this week was weaker than expected but the impact was minor.  Overall, mortgage interest rates ended the week slightly higher than last week.

Next week the following economic data and events will occur which may impact mortgage interest rates:

  1. The New Home Sales will be released on Monday;
  2. The Pending Home Sales and Durable Orders report will be released on Thursday;
  3. The European Central Bank will meet on Thursday; and
  4. Third quarter GDP will be released on Friday.
